ACPS Parent Resource Center Presents: What About Me? Supporting Siblings of Children with Disabilities
T.C. Williams High School, Minnie Howard Campus, 3801 W Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA 
The goal of this workshop is to address the challenges faced by parents as they try to make sure that the siblings of children with disabilities are not overlooked. The workshop will touch on concerns, risks to siblings, positive attributes of siblings, and provide practical strategies to support them. The presenter is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Kutztown University, a psychotherapist and author of Sibling Relationships in Childhood and Adolescence.
Presented by: Avidan Milevsky, Ph.D.

Eye to Eye Founder Coming to Lab: Empowering Kids with Learning Differences
The Commons on the Reservoir Campus, The Lab School, Washington, DC 
The Lab School of Washington is proud to welcome to our campus Author, Activist, and Co-Founder/ Chief Empowerment Officer of Eye to Eye, David Flink. He will speak to our High School students, conduct a session with our faculty, and present to our parents and local community that evening.

Eye to Eye is a national mentoring movement that empowers young people with learning differences by providing them with a mentor — from local high schools or colleges — who shares that experience.

We invite both current and future parents as well as interested community members to join us for a presentation about reframing learning for a new generation followed by a signing of his current book, Thinking Differently: An Inspiring Guide for Parents of Children with Learning Disabilities.

Admission is free.

teaches individuals with disabilities how to ride two-wheeled bicycles.

Youth and Young Adults: Stronger Together 
Alternate Thursdays at 6:30 - 8:00 pm  in Fairfax.
Sponsored by Formed Families Forward, this peer-to-peer support group for youth ages 14 - 22  meets twice a month through May.   Parents, caregivers and guardians have their own meeting at the same time in the same building. Light dinner of pizza and salad will be served.
