We have been busy planning our next face-to-face Event for February 22nd from 12:30-4:00pm, which will be divided into two segments: A lunch discussion and ice skating (see details below).
Because MTD has peaked the interest of many younger elementary school kids, this next event is open to younger kids. This will be a great opportunity for MTD's Middle and High Schoolers to be great advocates and role models for the younger ones. So we hope to have as many people as possible attend this next event.
Help us spread the word - all ages of Dyslexic students (and feel free to bring a non-dyslexic friend for support) are welcome. And as with past events, adult supervision is required, as MTD cannot take personal responsibility for students that attend MTD events. Please contact Donna Owens (donnaowens@verizon.net) if you have questions.

RSVP: Events@morethandyslexics.com
RSVP's are highly encouraged so that we can ensure adequate table space at the Luncheon
LUNCH DISCUSSION:
Pinzimini Restaurant at The Weston Gateway Hotel, 801 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22203 (http://www.pinzimini.com) Pinzimini will have their full menu available for everyone to order food/drink throughout the discussion. Each table will be responsible for dividing up/paying their own check to simplify payment.
12:30 - 1:15pm Guest Speaker: Dyslexic Author Gary Karton
MTD has a wonderful opportunity to hear the inspirational message of local author, Gary Karton, who is also Dyslexic. Check out Gary's website and his FaceBook page to learn more about his book "The Last Akaway". If anyone is interested in purchasing a copy of Gary's book, please let us know and he'll bring along extra copies. We were definitely inspired by Gary's article in the Arlington Magazine about growing up with a learning disability/dyslexia. Read Gary's personal journey in the link below.

1:15-2:00pm Assistive Technology Discussion
Bring your favorite device and your ideas to share! We are hoping to have a great student-led discussion about what technology discoveries and apps work well for dyslexic students. We will also be discussing the opportunities for virtually connecting MTD in-between event and for those that cannot meet face-to-face.
