2015 Power of the Written Word Scholarship

Nu Xi Zeta HAVE Foundation's "Power of the Written Word" scholarship for Alexandria and

The H.A.V.E. Foundation was founded in 2010, and has operated exclusively
for charitable and education purposes and has proudly served Alexandria and
Arlington communities.

We are pleased to announce our 2015 Power of the Written Word Scholarship
with the STEM based essay question - "If you could design a Science
Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workshop for a group of
students, what would it be? Please describe your workshop including the
topic, age range, key highlights and provide specific information on at
least one activity."

All applicants must be:
1. African-American
2. A graduating high school senior
3. A resident of the City of Alexandria or Arlington County

In order to become eligible for the scholarship, students should complete
the application and return it with the essay and other required documents:
1. The essay must be 500 - 1000 words, typed in size 12 point
Times New Roman font, and double-spaced. The essay will be judged on
content, organization, creativity and grammar.
2. Provide a copy of your school transcript (official
transcripts only). All applicants must be in good academic standing with a
GPA of at least 2.75, and should have applied to and be attending an
accredited college or university in Fall 2015.
