Preschool Director Position in Alexandria

Emmanuel Episcopal Preschool (EPS) is seeking candidates for the position of preschool director. EPS is a well-established play-based preschool that has operated in partnership with Emmanuel Episcopal Church (EEC) in Alexandria since 1968. Ideal candidates will have a passion for progressive early childhood education, strong administrative skills, and excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. Our half-day preschool program offers an enriching education that values the spirit of every individual child. Through strong relationships and meaningful interactions with peers and adults, our students are provided with a safe, nurturing, and inviting environment where children learn through play, explore their environment, take risks, and become inspired, lifelong thinkers and learners. 

The preschool director, in collaboration with the rector of EEC, provides direct administrative oversight of the preschool as well as leadership in developing and maintaining the vision and direction for EPS. Duties include, but are not limited to, administration and oversight of preschool operations, personnel, budget and finances, curriculum and instruction, facilities and safety, marketing/development, and continuing collaboration with EEC leadership and staff. 

Qualifications: 
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in an education-related field, and Master’s degree in early childhood education or a related field; experience in a supervisory/administrative/leadership role. 
Required: Bachelor’ s degree and several years of preschool teaching and/or administration experience. 

The position is part time, typically 30 hours per week, with an altered summer schedule, and duties spanning 12 months. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and education. A June start date is preferred.
