Summer Travel Training


A Pilot Program 

The Arc of Northern Virginia is creating a small pilot program looking for individuals with ID/DD who are interested in travel training with a one on one trainer and The Arc's new TravelMate "app" (see video here: tinyurl.com/TravMate)  Individuals with all functional abilities levels are welcome to apply.
 
The travel training will cost $25/hr and will be done at a mutually agreeable time for both the individual, family and trainer.  Each individual needs to have an iPad or iPad mini and will receive a free AutisMate365 ($150 value) to keep on their iPad. ONLYthe iPad or iPad mini are usable at this time.  Each individual must also have a parent, family member or caregiver (i.e. PCA) available to be involved in the some parts of the training.  The Arc of Northern Virginia is working with Abilities at Work to provide the trainers during the summer.  All trainers will have been previously trained in The Arc of Northern Virginia's Travel Training program.
